Description

1851 Seated Half Dollar, MS61
Conditionally Scarce

1851 50C MS61 PCGS. This issue is surprisingly scarce in Mint State, from a moderate mintage of 200,750 coins. PCGS and NGC have supposedly graded 50 pieces finer than MS61, but that number is surely inflated by resubmissions. This attractive coin displays satiny luster across beige-silver surfaces that are free of all but the most superficial marks. Population: 2 in 61, 25 finer (2/14).
