Description
1851-O 50C MS 61. Produced in an era of escalating silver prices, the 1851-O is a much more difficult coin to locate than its mintage of 402,000 pieces might suggest. Both sides are remarkably free of abrasions for the grade, but the subdued, golden-tan and steel color is suggestive of a light cleaning. The strike is bold, particularly for a product of the New Orleans Mint. ANACS Certificate of Authenticity # F-8998-B accompanies this coin.
