Description

1852 MS 60. Light silver-gray toning with scattered small areas of russet. This piece is well defined with small marks on both obverse and reverse. A very scarce coin in all grades, as are all halves struck between 1848 and 1852, as great numbers of these dates were melted because the bullion content was greater than the coin's face value. This issue has by far the lowest mintage of the entire 1850s half dollar series.
