Description

1853 Arrows and Rays MS 61 PCGS. Ever popular among collectors as a one-year type coin, this specimen displays a bold obverse strike that extends to every star centril. The reverse is also nicely detailed although we note trivial softness of strike on the eagle's lower left (facing) leg. Isolated russet iridescence clings to the obverse periphery while the reverse border shows slight evidence of faint champagne patination. Although we note a suitable number of abrasions for the grade, this coin's most detracting feature is its muted luster.
