Description

1854 50C Arrows, WB-101, MS63 NGC. Nearly 3 million half dollars were struck by the Philadelphia Mint in 1854, with many of the dies pushed to their limits. This example shows sharp definition on the elements and slight reflectivity in the fields despite multiple die cracks and minor die clashing on both sides. Deep iridescent toning features gold and lilac-gray hues amid strong and plentiful mint luster beneath the rich patina. Census: 34 in 63 (2 in 63+), 44 finer (8/16).
