Description

Condition Census 1856 Seated Half

1856 50C MS 65 PCGS. Original champagne-gray, crimson-orange, and electric-blue toning is the most visually appealing (although not the only) positive feature of this beautiful Gem. From a technical standpoint, intense frosty luster, razor sharp striking definition, and nearly distraction-free surfaces are all worthy of mention. The 1856 was produced in modest numbers (938,000 pieces) for a Seated half dollar from the late 1850s, and Gems are of the utmost rarity. Population: 4 in 65, 0 finer (2/01).
