Description
1856-O MS 63 Prooflike. Unusually bright and lustrous, struck much nicer than normal, and with an overall appearance which is far nicer than that seen on most No Motto half dollars. This is exactly the type of coin that would have been sold as a branch mint proof in years past. Both sides are highly reflective, untoned and nicely preserved. How much of a premium is the prooflike condition worth? We'll leave that decision to our bidders.
