1857 Half Dollar, Conditionally Rare MS65
1857 50C MS65 NGC. The 1857 half dollar, from a mintage approaching 2 million pieces, is a common date except in the better Mint State grades where it is rare. Electric-blue and russet toning gravitates to the margins of this Gem, framing the untoned centers, and the design elements are sharply struck. A few minute marks are consistent with the grade.
