Description

Patinated MS66 ★ 1858 Half Dollar

1858 50C MS66 ★ NGC. Beautiful ocean-blue, plum-red, and orange-gold enrich the borders but leave generous portions of the centers untoned. This fully struck Premium Gem is bathed in luster. The reverse is essentially pristine, as is the obverse aside from minor contact on the upper arm and a pair of wispy thin marks near the profile. The 1858 is available by No Motto standards in grades through MS64, but examples of the present quality are seldom encountered. Census: 1 in 66 , 1 finer (sans Star) as MS67 (6/10).
