Better-Date 1858-S Select Half Dollar
1858-S 50C MS63 NGC. This better date half dollar is "very scarce in mint state" (Wiley and Bugert, 1993). Light champagne-gold patina is accented by freckles of russet, somewhat more so on the reverse, and a penetrating strike imparts bold definition to the design elements. A few unobtrusive marks occur over each side. Census: 4 in 63, 5 finer (7/08).From The Sundance Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
