Rare Variety 1858-S Half Dollar
WB-103, MS63
1858-S 50C MS63 PCGS. WB-103. The obverse die is blundered,
with the base of an 8 buried in the rock above the 8 in the date.
The reverse has a Medium S, as always with this obverse according
to Wiley and Bugert. In Mint State grades, they rate this variety
low R.8. Hints of light tan-gold patina visit the obverse of this
lustrous well struck Select specimen. Light marks limit the grade.
