Description
Premium Gem 1859 Seated Half Dollar
Flashy Luster Under Rich Toning
1859 50C MS66 NGC. CAC. Beautiful toning bands blend into
each other, blue-green on the margins to cerulean, violet, and
rose. The reverse has deeper color and continues to a peach shading
at the core. The strike and luster are both excellent, the latter
showing considerable flash that is unusual on this heavily produced
issue. A magnificently appealing example of the No Motto, No Arrows
half dollar type with few rivals in the combined certified
population and only one numerically finer coin in the NGC Census
Report (11/11), this example is well-suited for an elite type
collection.Seller is donating a portion of their proceeds, and Heritage is donating the same portion of the Buyer's Premium, from the sale of this lot to the National Numismatic Collection at the Smithsonian Institution. See page 3 for details.(Registry values: N4719)
