Description

Attractive MS64 1859-S Half

1859-S 50C MS64 PCGS. In the years prior to the Civil War, almost all silver coinage struck at San Francisco quickly disappeared into circulation, and survivors so fine as this Choice coin are few. Light silver-gray and gold-tan shadings drape immensely lustrous, generally well-preserved surfaces. A minor disturbance is noted to the left of Liberty's sharply struck head. Population: 9 in 64, 4 finer (10/08).(Registry values: N2998)
