Superior Eye Appeal

1859-S 50C MS64 PCGS. Large S. Faint olive-gray patina graces this lustrous and well struck Choice No Motto half. Intricately struck and splendidly smooth with excellent eye appeal. There were few if any West Coast collectors in 1859, but the mintage was sufficient that a modest number of pieces survived by chance in Mint State. Population: 11 in 64, 3 finer (3/13).(Registry values: N2998)
