Historic 1861-O Half Dollar, WB-101
A Subtly Iridescent Gem
1861-O 50C MS65 PCGS. Breen-4904, WB-101. Normal Date, Type
Two Reverse. Subtle blue, gray, and golden iridescence covers each
side of this Gem New Orleans Seated half. Although some examples
show the Confederate obverse with die crack from nose-rim right of
star 7, most of the batch, as here, are from the WB-101 die
pairings. This piece is boldly struck, with all star centrils
present except for those on star 8. Population: 7 in 65, 5 finer
(6/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24J8, PCGS# 6303, GSID# 6346)
