Description
1861-S 50C MS64 NGC. WB-102. Medium Mintmark. Only slightly scarcer than the Large Mintmark variant, both are difficult to locate in Mint State and the Medium Mintmark is considered a high R.6 in the various Uncirculated grades. Well defined in the centers, the surfaces are brilliant over most of each side with just a hint of light golden color around the margins. Much nicer than the usually encountered Guatemala Hoard coins; in fact, one of the finest examples known of this issue. Population: 7 in 64, 4 finer (8/01).
From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
