Description
1862-S 50C MS62 PCGS. Despite a production in excess of 1.3 million coins, the 1862-S half dollar is surprisingly scarce in Mint State condition. The present example displays original, lightly frosted luster, with pale amber and golden toning overall. The strike is sharp over all areas, with notable definition on Liberty's head and surrounding stars, a problem area on this issue.
