Description
1864 50C AU53 ANACS. WB-102. Recut 1 and 4. Slight evidence of repunching can be seen below the base of the 1 and more noticeably above the crossbar of the 4. This coin is struck from unclashed dies, but showing the usual peripheral die breaks. A scarcer variety and considered a high R.5 in this grade. Well defined, the surfaces are lightly abraded and brilliant except for a slight accent of golden color around the margins.
From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
