Description
1866 Half With an Errant 6 in the Denticles
1866 50C MS61 ANACS. WB-102. Errant 6 in Denticles. The top of an errant 6 shows just above a denticle below and to the right of the second 6 in the date. One of the scarcest varieties of the year, the 102 is rated a high R.7 in mint condition and this is one of the finest known. This is a sharply defined piece that has bright fields and lustrous devices. Mostly brilliant, there is just a bit of light golden patina seen around the peripheries. From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
