Description
1870-S Half Dollar, MS64
Very Rare in Mint State
1870-S 50C MS64 NGC. Despite a mintage of 1,004,000, the
number of 1870-S survivors in Mint State grades is exceedingly
small. NGC and PCGS combined have awarded the MS64 grade to only 3
examples, with only 3 finer (10/13). Light tan toning appears on
this near-Gem displaying matte luster, along with scattered
flyspecks. The strike is sharp overall, with a few minor areas of
incompleteness noted.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24K3, PCGS# 6329, GSID# 6358)
