Description

Conditionally Rare 1871-CC Half Dollar, AU55 NGC

1871-CC 50C AU55 NGC. A conditionally rare Carson City Half Dollar with only 153,950 pieces produced, and even more challenging than the mintage indicates. It becomes quite scarce in grades XF and above. This AU example reveals smoky-gray toning on each side, with the highpoints being a touch lighter. The design elements are well impressed, though portions of Liberty's hair are somewhat soft. There do not appear to be any significant marks worthy of special mention. Population: 1 in 55, 2 finer (12/04).(#6331) (Registry values: N1793)
