Description

PCGS 1872-S MS 62. Much scarcer than its mintage of more than a half million would suggest, only 3 other MS 62s have been graded by PCGS with 2 finer and both of them are only MS 63. While well struck in the centers, there is some irregularity of detail on the peripheral stars on the obverse. The surfaces are a bit too dull to grade higher, but are quite clean and toned an even golden-gray over both sides. Trends $1,300 in MS 60, $3,500 in MS 63.
