Description

Gem 1873 Arrows Half Dollar

1873 50C Arrows MS65 PCGS. Large Arrowheads. Of the Arrows on Obverse, Motto on Reverse half dollar issues, only the two Philadelphia dates 1873 and 1874 have mintages of over a million pieces. The former issue is readily accessible through most grades, even lesser Mint State, though as might be expected, Gems are conditionally rare. This MS65 example has bold luster with slight frost across the well-defined devices. Light gray is the base color, though prominent waves of gold and orange sweep across each side. Additional rouge and violet elements visit the rims. An appealing and instantly memorable survivor. Population: 10 in 65, 4 finer (2/10).(Registry values: N7079)
