Description

1874 Arrows Half Dollar, Sharp MS64

1874 50C Arrows MS64 PCGS. The near-Gem grade is a great compromise between quality and price for this issue for many collectors, as it will keep them out of possibly having to go into high-four-figure or low-five-figure territory to obtain a Gem or finer coin. (Take a look at the three incredible examples depicted on PCGS CoinFacts for PCGS #6346 in MS65, MS66, and MS67.) Light rose and gray patina prevail on most of each side, although there is a small patch of dark toning near the upper reverse rim. Sharply struck surfaces show a stray tick or two. Much more elusive in finer Mint State grades. Population: 80 in 64 (1 in 64+), 21 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N2998)
