Description

1875 Seated Half, Highly Lustrous MS65

1875 50C MS65 PCGS. CAC. With its mintage of more than 6 million pieces, the 1875 and the similarly high-mintage 1875-S are among the most frequently located Seated halves for type purposes, especially in mint condition. This is a remarkably lustrous example that is nearly untoned. The striking details are strong but not quite complete in all areas, and there are no obvious or detracting abrasions. Population: 14 in 65, 5 finer (11/11).
Seller is donating a portion of their proceeds, and Heritage is donating the same portion of the Buyer's Premium, from the sale of this lot to the National Numismatic Collection at the Smithsonian Institution. See page 3 for details.(Registry values: N2998)
