Description
Sharp 1875-S Gem Half Dollar
1875-S 50C MS65 PCGS. A delicate mix of golden-tan and soft violet patination rests on lustrous surfaces that are devoid of significant contact marks. Sharp definition is apparent on the design elements, save for minor softness in a couple of the star centers and in the right (left facing) claw. Four or five minute toning flecks are noted on the obverse. With a mintage of 3.2 million pieces, the 1875-S is an excellent type coin. This example will fit comfortably in a high-grade Mint State collection. Population: 47 in 65, 11 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24KF, PCGS# 6351, GSID# 6369)
