Description
1875-S 50C AU50 ANACS. WB-104. Small Wide Mintmark. A scarcer variety, especially in XF/AU and better grades with such pieces rated as a low R.6 in the Wiley-Bugert reference. This variety shows die damage in the recessed area of the shield above the letters TY--a diagnostic of this particular die marriage. Sharply struck with light color over each side, the only surface imperfection of any note is a shallow horizontal scratch just above Liberty's foot.
From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
