Description
1876 50C MS64 PCGS. WB-101. Open Bud Reverse. This is an unusual and quite interesting variety. The dies clashed so hard that a portion of an 8 is visible on the reverse below the TE in STATES. Very rare as such. Sharply struck throughout, the frosted surfaces are lightly toned on the obverse but show no trace of color on the reverse. Always a popular date for type purposes.
From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
