Description

1877-CC Half Dollar, MS67
Lightly Toned, Pristine

1877-CC 50C MS67 NGC. The 1877-CC half dollar is a fairly available issue among CC-mint Seated halves, due to the large mintage of more than 1.4 million pieces. (This is in particularly stark contrast to the semikey 1878-CC, struck to the extent of only 62,000 coins.) However, few survivors of the large 1877-CC mintage will ever approach the technical quality of this masterpiece. Generous luster remains under a light covering of amber-copper color with some smoke-gray accents and small areas of remaining brilliance on each side. Most Mint State examples are quite well-struck, and this piece is no exception. There are no observable defects to mar the incredible appeal. Census: 1 in 67, 1 finer (12/12).(Registry values: N1)
