Uncirculated Details 1878-CC Half

1878-CC 50C --Scratched--NCS. Unc. Details. At first glance, this is a lovely Mint State example with full cartwheel luster, a penetrating strike, and attractive peripheral golden-brown toning. A few clusters of pinscratches are noted on the field near the eagle, from an attempt to remove a few green flecks. The obverse displays faint hairlines on the right obverse field. A rare Carson City issue, since its production was interrupted to resume silver dollar coinage.
