1879 50C Closed Bud, WB-102, MS65 PCGS. The iridescent surfaces of this pleasing Gem half dollar are imbued with splashes of bluish-green and golden-tan color and rainbow-toned margins, especially on the reverse. The motifs are sharply struck, and both sides are well-preserved with prooflike tendencies. The 1879 circulation strike has a mintage of just 4,800 pieces.
