Description
Scintillating 1881 Half, MS67
1881 50C MS67 PCGS. CAC. This year saw Philadelphia alone produce half dollars, with that Mint coining just 10,000 business strikes. The present Superb Gem survivor offers top-notch preservation for the issue, being one of just three graded at that level by PCGS with none finer (11/08). Considerable frostiness enlivens the sharply struck devices. The shining, profoundly reflective fields are generally silver-white save for a crescent of tan and umber at the left obverse which has a faint echo on the reverse. An excellent representative that should appeal to the high-end date collector. From The James Mossman Collection.(Registry values: N1)
