Description

1883 Seated Half, MS66+
Largely Untoned, Well-Struck Throughout

1883 50C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. One among a string of low-mintage issues, the 1883 half dollar saw only 8,000 business strikes coined. This MS66+ example displays silver-white, eye-appealing surfaces that are well-struck and largely untoned, save for a slight tinge of copper-gold around the rims. A single small luster graze in the left obverse field may be all that precludes an MS67 grade. Population: 19 in 66 (1 in 66+), 3 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N2998)
