Superb Gem 1884 Half Dollar
Ideal Type Selection

1884 50C MS67 NGC. The low mintages of the 1880s Philadelphia-only half dollars do not provide an insight into their accessibility in Mint State grades, as survival was high. While the 1884 is understandably a condition rarity at the Superb Gem level, a baker's dozen of MS67 coins appear in the combined certified population, albeit with none finer (11/11). This is one of them, a humdinger of a coin with just a hint of golden color against swirling, flashy silver luster and delicately twinkling frost that graces sharply struck devices.(Registry values: N1)
