Description

1884 Seated Liberty Half, MS67+
Rare Low-Mintage Date

1884 50C MS67+ PCGS. Here is a Condition Census Superb Gem survivor from the low mintage of just 4,400 half dollars in 1884, at a time when production of Morgan dollars trumped all other issues at the Philadelphia Mint, while the branch mints halted all other silver production in the 1880s to meet the requirements of the Bland-Allison Act. This sharply detailed Seated Liberty half dollar has deep sea-green, violet, and gold toning with extraordinary eye appeal. Only two finer coins are PCGS and NGC certified, combined. Population: 9 in 67 (2 in 67+), 2 finer (11/21).(Registry values: N1)
