Description
1886 50C MS64 NGC. The 1886 half dollar is from a small mintage of only 5,000 business strikes and is difficult to locate in Mint State grades. A medley of medium-intensity sky-blue, lavender, and gold-beige patination bathes the obverse of this near-Gem, while electric-blue and russet cling to the reverse margins, leaving the central area untoned. A well executed strike imparts sharp definition throughout. Each side is minimally abraded.
