1888 Seated Half Dollar, MS64 Prooflike
Sole Prooflike Example at PCGS
1888 50C MS64 Prooflike PCGS. Brilliant silver surfaces
display mirrorlike fields surrounding boldly frost-white motifs on
this sole Prooflike 1888 half dollar certified by PCGS. Obverse
fields show a few light marks amplified by the otherwise smooth and
flashy silver surfaces. Softness at stars 6 through 9 accompanies
weak upper hair strands on Liberty, but all else is needle-sharp.
The late-series 12,001-piece mintage has yet to yield another
prooflike example. PCGS Population: 1 in 64 Prooflike, 0 finer
(6/25).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24L3, Variety PCGS# 86370, Base PCGS# 6370)
