Description

1890 Half Dollar, MS65
Final Low-Mintage Issue

1890 50C MS65 PCGS. The 1890 was the final Seated issue with a very low mintage. Just 12,000 business strikes were coined at Philadelphia, along with 590 proofs. Commercial production increased to 200,000 pieces in 1891, and the 1890 quarter business mintage was 80,000 pieces. This semiprooflike Gem is clashed on both sides. The coin is brilliant throughout, and the strike is generally bold. Population: 18 in 65 (1 in 65+), 18 finer (3/24).
