    Description

    Prooflike MS63 1839 Quarter
    No Drapery Subtype

1839 25C No Drapery MS63 Prooflike NGC. Closed Claws Reverse. An untoned and surprisingly reflective example of the briefly struck No Drapery subtype. Minimally abraded and attractive with slight incompleteness of strike on the lower curls and the eagle's neck. The obverse has a matte texture near Liberty's raised arm, as made and caused by an unfinished portion of the obverse die. One of two pieces certified as Prooflike by NGC; the other grades MS62.
    Ex: Palm Beach Signature (Heritage, 3/2006), lot 568, which realized $4,485.(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 23SF, PCGS# 5392)
