Not Sold Description
1839 25C No Drapery AU 50 Scratched. Open Claws. Briggs 1-A. An important type candidate for budget-minded collectors, this lightly circulated example displays bold definition that bears testimony to its powerful impression. Evenly toned in gunmetal-gray shades, the surfaces are quite smooth save for a pinscratch in the right obverse field between stars 11 and 12. The diagnostic die crack that bisects the reverse is plainly visible to the unaided eye, as well as a second to the left of the date.
