Description
1839 25C No Drapery VF 30 SEGS. Briggs 4-C. This is, without a doubt, one of the rarest die varieties of this early Seated quarter delivery. The diagnostic beaded borders, as well as the eagle's long, curved claws, are readily visible to the unaided eye when this specimen is compared to other 1839 quarters. While the recessed areas display deep charcoal toning, the highpoints are markedly lighter and evidence a slate-gray appearance. There are no distracting circulation impairments on the smooth surfaces. This is a fleeting opportunity for the specialist that deserves a carefully considered bid.
