1840-O 25C Drapery MS63 ★ NGC. Briggs 2-C, Small O.
Attributed by a die scratch in the lower obverse shield, the
mintmark centered over the R of QUAR, and the 7th vertical line of
the reverse shield extending to the 4th horizontal line. Briggs
rates the Small O R.6 in Uncirculated. This Select example with the
coveted Star displays deep electric-blue, purple, and golden brown
peripheral toning framing nearly untoned centers. Sharply struck,
with lustrous surfaces revealing just a few trivial handling marks.
