Description

1840-O 25C No Drapery MS63 NGC. The 1838, 1839, and the 1840-O are the only three issues contained in the short-lived Seated quarter series that do not show extra drapery folds at Liberty's right (facing) elbow. Original autumn-brown and forest-green patina deepens toward the margins. The striking details are well defined in all areas, including the often-weak neck of the eagle. One of the most impressive 1840-O No Drapery quarters we have handled, regardless of grade. Housed in an early generation holder. Census: 5 in 63, 6 finer (8/07).
