    Description

    1843-O Quarter, MS63
    Scarce Early O-Mint Issue

1843-O 25C MS63 PCGS. Briggs 1-B. Small O. Despite a moderate mintage of nearly 1 million coins, the 1843-O is just as scarce in high grades as are most other pre-1853 Seated quarter issues. Mint State examples are distinctly rare, but when found, often exhibit remarkably sharp strikes. This Select example is an exceptional coin in that regard, with satiny luster beneath a veil of light golden toning. Semiprooflike fields complement a lack of any significant abrasions. Population: 3 in 63, 1 finer (9/14).(Registry values: P5)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23SS, PCGS# 5405)

    Weight: 6.68 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
