Description
1843-O 25C AU 55 NGC. Small O. Briggs 2-C. Scarce in better grades with this variety rated as R.4 in XF-AU and a solid R.6 in Uncirculated condition. Lightly toned and well struck except on the stars on the right side of the obverse. This variety also shows weak definition around the reverse periphery from 2-7 o'clock, a diagnostic of the B. 2-C and caused by heavy die polishing in that area. Clean features overall.
