Description
Near-Gem 1844 Quarter, MS64
Impressively Preserved
1844 25C MS64 NGC. The 1844 (421,200 pieces produced) is
typically encountered in well worn condition. To date (9/09), both
major grading services have seen only 52 Mint State examples, and
the present near-Gem almost qualifies for Condition Census
standing. The originally preserved surfaces are toned in rich
blue-green color through which antique-golden undertones shine at
certain angles. Both sides are crisply struck, and there are no
mentionable distractions. Census: 5 in 64, 2 finer (9/09).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23ST, PCGS# 5406, GSID# 5114)
