    Lustrous, Originally Toned Example, 1844-O Seated Quarter, Briggs-1A

    1844-O 25C MS63 PCGS. Briggs 1-A. The 44 in the date appears to be triple punched below the crossbar. Well struck and lustrous, with lovely golden-brown, sea-green and mauve patina. The right obverse field has a few wispy abrasions. Population: 3 in 63, 4 finer (3/04).
    Ex: Long Beach Signature Sale (Heritage, 2/03), lot 6624, which realized $2,530.
