Choice 1848-P Quarter
1848 MS 64 NGC. Doubled Date, Breen-3974. The 1848 is one of many scarce No Motto quarter issues and most, if not all, display at least partial repunching on the date. This example is repunched on all four digits. The centers are rose, with some gold highlights, graduating to steel-blue at the peripheries. This date is extremely rare in MS 64 and better, with a total of only 6 pieces graded by both NGC and PCGS (11/98).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23SZ, PCGS# 5412, GSID# 5118)
