Description
1852 Seated Quarter, Toned MS64
Rarely Offered This Fine
1852 25C MS64 NGC. Briggs 2-B. Mottled old-time toning in
amber, gold, olive, and russet-ebony spans the softly frosted
luster of this Choice 1852 quarter. The coin is well struck, and a
loupe reveals only light marks under the patina. This Philadelphia
issue is much scarcer in high grade than its mintage of more than
177,000 coins would suggest. MS64 coins are rare, and only a
handful of finer pieces are known. NGC Census: 12 in 64 (2 in 64+),
6 finer (10/25).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23T8, PCGS# 5419, Greysheet# 5122)
