Description

High Grade 1852-O Seated Quarter

1852-O Unc Details--Cleaned, Retoned--Net AU 50 ANACS. Uncommonly high grade for this elusive, heavily melted New Orleans quarter, one of just 96,000 pieces struck only a year before temporarily high silver prices caused a reduction in weight. Both sides are covered in vivid, concentric hues of violet and electric-blue, masking the loss of luster and numerous hairlines beneath. Despite its unnatural state, the scarcity of the 1852-O, especially in better grades, makes this a desirable item for the Seated coin specialist.
